Hi
Thanks for replying.
These Imperial Tanto's & Tai-pans will recover in value.
In Belgium recently, a Tai-pan went for 1500 Euros so $2000 US.
The market is fickle. The global economy....not so great.
Cold steel also dont seem to help their market profile with their current
marketing which does not seem well recieved by many knife forums.
Just an opinion.
The Imperial Damascus Tanto & Tai-pan have been lost to many.
They reflect a time when Cold steels goals were not so mass-market & mainstream maybe.

I am sure these knives will become appreciated & sought after in the coming years.
I love mine & I will not sell.

It would be cool to see where they have all been scattered around the world.
A registry perhaps...that would be cool.

Cheers

Usually when you buy something brand new the value of it starts to go down the moment you bought it. A car for example is only worth 80% of its value the day after you bought it. A year later its only worth 70% or less no matter how well you look after it or how little you drive it and so on. Anyway the value keeps going down on most things for 30 years at which point the value starts to go up again.
I reckon you have 10 years to go at least until its value starts to appreciate but the very fact that your knife is still worth a considerable amount of money says something for its long term value as an investment since it has held its value fairly well in comparison to most other things.
This thirty year scenario does not apply to real estate. Thats why they call it real estate Very Happy

What is an imperial tanto? Is it a sword or a knife?
