I own one of the 1000 limited edition "Imperial Tanto's" made. 807 to be exact. I was wondering if this thing had gone up in price since I bought it like more hten 10 years ago. So I have been searching for information on through google and happened to this site. I was under the impression that 2000 had been made. So reading that on your site was nice. I noticed that you did not have a picture of one there. It is a very sexy knife, you should have a photo of it with the text ya?

Here is another page with an image of the Imperial Tanto, being used to illustrate the names of various knife parts.
Lack of image on the other page well spotted, I have a proper pic of it somewhere but can't find it at the minute. I must fix that.
I have to agree, its just about the most beautifull factory knife I have ever laid eyes on. The production values are first rate. Top quality throughout and excellently finished. I imagine the sale value of this knife has increased quite a bit but I have no idea how much its worth. I have one myself. Good to meet a fellow owner and enthusiast for this knife. My understanding is that production did stop at 1000 despite an original intent to produce twice that. I have never seen or heard of a serial number over 1000 either so that would seem to support the view that the production run stopped early.

Apologies for my first post dragging up an old thread fellas.
I just wanted to add some pics of my Cold Steel damascus Knives.
I accept that they are not to everyones taste but here in Europe, this pair must be a pretty rare sight side by side.
They took me a long time to find but the wait was worth it imho.
Next to the Imperial Tanto 110 & Imperial Tai-pan 146 is a Farid T9000 damascus san mai with cpm420v from Cruxible steels for reference.

That Imperial Tai-pan is a fine thing. Thanks for showing it to us. I have unfortunately no idea of value but I can tell you that in my view those knives are well worth having and keeping. Lucky man !

Its very hard to source these knives in Europe.
As I am in the UK specifically, small arms & knives are not pc despite stupid unenforceable laws, our violent weapon related crimes continue to rise through the roof.
Collectors & enthusiasts are not very obvious here for obvious reasons.

I have some other pieces that may be of interest to others here.
I will post on the appropriate forums.

Sorry for the long delay in response. Some how I lost track of this post or did not get a notification of the continued thread. In re to the pictures posted by logun1 of the knives... those are very sexy knives and a good picture of an Imperial Tanto. I recently did a check to see if any Tanto's had sold and found one. It was posted on eBay two times. The first time it did not sell, the second time it sold with only 4 bids between two people. And it only sold for $730. Not much more then I paid for mine 20 odd years ago. I suppose these knives do not appreciate in value much. What a shame.

Daithi I saved that image you posted, I really like how it points out the qualities of the knife.

Well I have no regrets anyway. I don't buy knives as investments but just cause I like them, so its no odds to me if they don't sell on Ebay. I'm still glad I have mine and I bet your glad you have yours too, after all you didn't keep it 20 years for no reason Smile

Well you are correct there. I have quite a large collection of knives now. Most of them are worthless, but very cool looking. And I love them. Still, I had hoped when I bought this Imperial Tanto that it might go up in value over the years. Perhaps it will in another 20 years or so.
